Toei Animation announced today that it has partnered with Sanrio to launch the One Piece x Hello Kitty series of collaborative goods in November. The collaboration invites characters like Tony Tony Chopper from the pirate world of One Piece to play in world of cuteness that is Hello Kitty.
Since it’s release in 1997, One Piece has become one of the most popular manga series of all time world wide.
Sounds like the partnership has all the makings for success and we can’t wait to see what kind of wonderful products begin rolling out in November!

My first crush was on a Japanese girl in elementary school. After the summer she would come back with Hello Kitty items. So I always identify the logo with that first innocent crush.
This post is a real delight for me! My boyfriend is a huge Jane’s Addiction fan, they are in his top five favorite bands of all time. I hope this article proves to him that Hello Kitty’s cuteness is universal and boy’s aren’t too cool for the kitty!

Mitsubishi showed off a pair Hello Kitty-licious i-Miev’s outside of their headquarters in Tokyo this week to promote the Sanrio Summer Festival.
On the other side of the world in Las Vegas, Nevada - Twenty10 Footwear had their adorable Hello Kitty Smart Car parked outside the MAGIC fashion trade show to promote the sneak preview of their upcoming exclusive Hello Kitty line of footwear that we mentioned in an earlier post.
Such sweet rides…and easy on the environment, too! If Mitsubishi or Twenty10 Footwear need a place to park any of these, we can certainly make room in our garage for these little marvels!
The National Retail Federation’s latest report confirms that Hello Kitty is at the top of the list for favorite characters when parents are doing back-to-school shopping for their children in grades K-12. Duh! Tell us something us Hello Kitty Lovers don’t already know! Tee hee hee! Just teasing, National Retail Federation! Great report! We love it when Kitty gets good press!
For the first time this year, NRF asked parents of K-12 students if they had purchased or were planning to purchase character-themed merchandise for back to school. Nearly half of parents (43.4%) said they would purchase at least one character item, with Disney’s CARS and Star Wars taking the top slots for boys and Dora the Explorer and Hello Kitty at the top of the list for girls.

PRWeek reports that Xpert Communications has been drafted in by Hello Kitty brand Pynkiss to handle the fashion company’s seven-figure global PR account.
Pynkiss is billed as ‘the high-end and grown-up’ section of the Hello Kitty fashion and lifestyle brand and will launch in September during Milan Fashion Week.
The account will see Xpert take control of Pynkiss’ strategy and creative executions across PR, digital events and social media for the brand and its stores in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, North Africa and the Far East.
Pynkiss will open its first ten stores and concessions in January 2012 in Tokyo and Korea.
The brand will expand into high-end stockists, department stores and franchises and will be available through an online shopping website in mid-2012.

Hello Kitty Androids are landing in September to take over Japan! Hello Kitty Android phones that is!
The third largest Japanese carrier Softbank launches the 007SH KT Hello Kitty Android Smartphone in Japan in September. The phone arms youngsters with impressive specs to keep them up to date with the latest in smartphone technology.
The phone is powered by Google’s Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system which features kittylicious Hello Kitty designs on screens and menus, special icons for use in messaging, and a Hello Kitty calculator and alarm amongst other interface design features and dedicated apps for Hello Kitty fans.
The clamshell body is waterproof and sports a large 3.4-inch LCD capacitive touch screen display with 854 x 480 pixels resolution. The smartphone has an additional secondary 0.7-inch OLED sub-display and boasts an incredible 16-megapixel CCD camera with 1,280 x 720 HD video recording capabilities.
